You can view your Vedic birth chart for free on Vedic Starlight. Create an account, enter your date, exact local time and city of birth, and generate your chart. No payment details or subscription are needed.
What is included in your free birth chart?
A Vedic birth chart is also called a kundli, kundali or janma chart. Our free calculator provides:
- D1 Rashi chart: the main chart in the North Indian layout, with houses you can select to explore their planets.
- Ascendant and planetary placements: signs, houses, degrees, nakshatras and padas for the ascendant and nine grahas, including Rahu and Ketu.
- D9 Navamsha chart: a divisional chart with its own sign and house placements.
- Vimshottari dasha schedule: your full calculated timeline of main periods and subperiods, with the current period highlighted.
- Your latest saved chart: return through your account, or use “Print / save PDF” for a copy on your device.
The settings are shown with your result: Lahiri sidereal zodiac, whole-sign houses and true lunar nodes. The free and paid charts use the same calculation method.
Step 1: Create your free account
Open the free birth-chart page and select Generate free birth chart. If you are not signed in, you will be taken to registration. Enter your name, email and password; after registration, you will return to the chart page.
Already registered? Use the login link to return to the calculator.
Step 2: Enter your birth details carefully
Use the date and local clock time recorded for your birth. Check AM and PM, especially around midnight. Choose your actual birth city from the suggestions so the calculator can identify its coordinates and timezone.
Do not enter your current city unless it is also your birthplace, and do not convert the recorded time to UTC yourself. If your time is uncertain, read the birth-time checklist before proceeding. Entering a guessed time can give you misleading house and divisional-chart placements.
Step 3: Generate and explore your chart
Select Generate my free birth chart. Once the calculation is complete, your chart appears on the same page and is saved to your account.
Start by checking the birth details shown above it. Select a house in the D1 diagram to see its occupants. The numbers inside this North Indian chart identify signs; the selected-house panel gives the house number and sign together.
Open All planetary placements to find the Moon’s sign, nakshatra and pada. Our Moon sign and nakshatra guide explains those labels without requiring you to interpret the whole chart at once.
The dasha section opens at the current period. Use Previous, Next or the period selector to explore earlier and later main periods and all nine of their subperiods. Back to current returns you to today’s period. The Vimshottari dasha guide explains how a main period and subperiod fit together.
Step 4: Return to it when you need it
Choose Free birth chart in your account to reopen the saved result. Updating the birth details and calculating again replaces your previous free chart; it does not change any paid readings.
You can make up to 20 new calculations per day, with the allowance resetting at midnight UTC. Reopening the saved chart does not use that allowance. You can browse the full saved dasha timeline without calculating again. The current-period marker follows today’s date when you reopen your chart. Printing saves the main period and subperiods you are currently viewing.
Free chart or full personal reading?
The free chart gives you calculated placements and dates. A personal reading explains what those details mean within Vedic astrology.
A full personal reading is a separate paid service. It adds an AI-assisted written interpretation, personalised remedies and an answer to your question, focused on your priorities and the next two years. You can explore sample readings before deciding whether that would be useful. There is no obligation to upgrade.
Common questions
Is my birth chart public?
No. Other users cannot see your saved chart. Our Privacy Policy explains how chart information is used to provide the service, for human review and improvement, and for research.
Can I get an accurate chart without a birth time?
The calculator requires a birth time. It cannot recover an unknown time, and an approximate time can change important placements. Check available records before entering one.
Does the free chart predict my future?
It displays planetary placements and a traditional timing schedule, without a written forecast. An astrological interpretation explores possible themes; it cannot guarantee future events.
